The challenge of transitioning into a virtual environment can initially be both daunting and exciting, feelings that are often followed by the realization that the skills that allow an individual to be successful in a live environment do not automatically transfer into proficient virtual leadership. The role of a leader requires a specialized set of skills that include the ability to motivate others toward individual and group success. Now that you’ve mastered those skills, here comes the curveball.

An individual who must supervise and guide a group - whether they be a team of direct reports or a class of students - in a remote setting will find that while there is some crossover from building and maintaining productive relationships in a face-to-face environment, what they must do as a leader is now very different. In that spirit, this course will take some of the tremendous natural abilities of current leaders and give them the skills to translate that into their new role as virtual leaders.
