Seeing Things: Virtual Student Keynote

Reviews | Download PDF

Your student group will learn how new perceptions shift perspectives to shape new outcomes in this 60-minute live webinar. Seeing Things is about endeavoring to know what we don’t know. We are at a great advantage personally and professionally when we’re able to acknowledge the filters through which we perceive our world - and then have the willingness and capacity to see things from new and different perspectives other than our own. You see, how we “see things” affects everything.

Are you tired of the noise and the inevitable confusion resulting from information overload? Especially in times of uncertainty and stress, the voices both inside and outside of our heads can be deafening. In today’s hyper-connected world, whether we are in the midst of crises, or just enduring the status quo, it’s never been more essential for us to harness the ability to “see things” more clearly (literally and figuratively speaking).

To “see” = to become more aware = to better understand.

By better understanding how shifting your perceptions influences and shapes your perspectives, you become uniquely and strategically positioned to communicate effectively and make the best decisions for your circumstances.

The “best” decisions are the most effective decisions -  those that produce your desired outcomes, both personally and professionally. But how do we cut through the milieu and minimize the plethora of illusions and delusions, and cognitive and communication breakdowns that plague us all sometimes?

Key actionable takeaways for you and your group:

  • How “Seeing things” from new and unique perspectives can drastically change how we view, interact with, and positively affect the worlds in which we live, study, and educate others.
  • Recognizing and understanding the important, yet often overlooked differences between perception and perspective provide enhanced outcomes personally and professionally.
  • Applying the practice of “seeing things” continually gives you an advantage socially, emotionally, and professionally.

Employing the six strategies to sharpen your perception will enable you to “see things” in new ways and offer positive effects for both your personal and professional perspectives and outcomes.

Clients Talk About this Program

Tom speaks with passion, experience, humor, sincerity and music. He is the perfect example of everything that is right in our sector (or any, for that matter) of education. In his "Seeing Things" keynote, he showed us how to see the aura and not the frame, and the entire audience can’t help but want to look through his lens.

Jeri Prochaska, Executive Director, Central States Private Education Network (CSPEN)

As our Keynote Speaker, Tom knocked it out of the park! He was dynamic, professional, engaging, and thought provoking. His "Seeing Things" keynote, on challenging your perspectives and changing your perceptions was spot-on. The use of his photography to illustrate how we can see things differently was genius.

Kevin Polky, Executive Director, Shatter Our Silence

Tom Leu absolutely opened my mind and heart to new things!!!! He not only made me look at things from a different perspective, but he made me see the beauty in things I may not have been able to see before. So many of us stereotype, and label others without even knowing it. I've always thought of myself as someone that doesn't judge others, but I realized that day that I too, may have passed judgment on a stranger or someone based on something I just didn't know about or understand.  The photos were absolutely wonderful and the Q&A session gave me even more insight into who he was and why he thinks the way he does, and how it can help me in my life and career. It was all so wonderful!!!
